Bodhi, this is your wake up call. Social media is here to stay. The obvious advent of social media week is a good indication of the direction that social media is taking in mainstream culture. The conference has expanded, exploding through over 9 cities across the globe. Founded by CEO of Crowdcentric, Toby Daniels, the conference will focus on the shift from being tech centric to the how-to’s of facilitating global change through revolutionary technologies. Exciting stuff. From nydailynews.com
The conference, running from Feb. 7-11, brings together the brightest minds in the social media universe for “learning experiences that aim to advance our understanding of social media’s role in society.” In New York alone there will be over 150 events strewn throughout the city at various locations including the UN and the Guggenheim.
Events next week include a keynote interview with foursquare CEO Dennis Crowley, a panel on social media and music, an event from the UN on global social media engagement and others. For a full schedule and details visit Social Media Week’s website.
